Eutimio Chavez-Jose, Illegal Re-Entry, Pennsylvania 2012

Harrisburg, PA - In a shocking turn of events, two previously deported aliens have been charged with illegal re-entry into the United States.

Eutimio Chavez-Jose, a 40-year-old Mexican citizen, was previously deported from the United States to Mexico on four prior occasions - June 2007, twice in June 2011, and June 2012. He is alleged to have illegally re-entered the United States sometime after June 2012.

Chavez-Jose was found in Cumberland County, Pennsylvania after eluding examination or inspection by immigration officers. In June 2012, he was convicted in the Western District of New York of illegal reentry, an offense that subjects him to enhanced penalties in the current case.

According to United States Attorney Bruce D. Brandler, Chavez-Jose faces a maximum penalty of ten years of imprisonment, a term of supervised release following imprisonment, and a fine.

Javier Miguel-Martinez, a 30-year-old Mexican citizen, was previously deported from the United States to Mexico on four prior occasions - July 2006, October 2006, November 2009, and February 2012. He is alleged to have illegally re-entered the United States sometime after February 2012.

Miguel-Martinez was found in Cumberland County, Pennsylvania after eluding examination or inspection by immigration officers. Under federal law, Miguel-Martinez faces a maximum penalty of two years of imprisonment, a term of supervised release following imprisonment, and a fine.

The cases were investigated by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement and Removal Operations (ERO). Special Assistant United States Attorney Brian G. McDonnell is prosecuting the cases.

Indictments and Criminal Informations are only allegations. All persons charged are presumed to be innocent unless and until found guilty in court.
