NEW ORLEANS, LOUISIANA - On July 15, 2026, Ezequiel Lara-Reyes, age 28, a native of Honduras, was sentenced to time served by U.S District Judge Lance M. Africk.

Lara-Reyes previously pleaded guilty to illegal entry into the United States, and avoidance of examination and inspection by U.S. immigration officials, in violation of Title 8, United States Code, Section 1325(a).

The charges were brought by the United States Attorney's Office for the Eastern District of Louisiana, announced United States Attorney David I. Courcelle.
