Fabian Garcia, a 30-year-old South Bend resident, has been sentenced to 123 months in prison after pleading guilty to possession with intent to distribute methamphetamine, along with possession of a firearm in furtherance of a drug trafficking crime.

The sentencing took place in the United States District Court for the Northern District of Indiana. U.S. Attorney Kirsch announced the sentencing.

Garcia has a history of felony and misdemeanor convictions, all related to driving offenses. This case was investigated by the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) with assistance from the South Bend Police Department.

The case was handled by Assistant U.S. Attorney Frank E. Schaffer. Garcia will also serve 3 years of supervised release after completing his prison sentence.

The investigation and subsequent sentencing of Garcia serve as a reminder of the ongoing struggle against methamphetamine trafficking in the region.
