Fedric Amos Remy, Possession of Counterfeit Access Devices with Intent to Defraud, Mississippi 2015

Two Florida residents are behind bars after being sentenced for possessing counterfeit access devices with the intent to defraud. Fedric Amos Remy, 28, and Geovanni Corrado Davis, 30, both of Kissimmee, Florida, were sentenced to 21 months in prison, followed by three years of supervised release.

The pair was arrested on January 28, 2015, after a traffic stop conducted by the Madison Police Department. During the stop, officers found over 30 counterfeit credit cards and multiple forms of false identification in their possession.

Remy and Davis were indicted by a federal grand jury and pled guilty on June 30, 2015, to knowingly possessing 15 or more counterfeit access devices with the intent to defraud.

The case was investigated by the U.S. Secret Service and the Madison Police Department. Assistant U.S. Attorney Chris Wansley prosecuted the case.

The defendants' crimes were punishable under federal law, which prohibits the manufacture, sale, and possession of counterfeit access devices. The law aims to prevent identity theft and protect consumers from financial loss.
