Floyd Henry, Illegal Firearm Trafficking, New Jersey 2019

A Paterson, New Jersey, man has been arrested for illegally selling 11 firearms and possessing weapons as a convicted felon, according to a federal complaint. Floyd Henry, 34, sold the firearms for over $8,000 between July 15, 2019, and September 20, 2019.

According to the complaint, Henry, also known as 'HK,' engaged in the business of dealing firearms while not being a federally licensed importer, licensed manufacturer, or licensed dealer. He sold a total of two semi-automatic rifles, two revolvers, and seven semi-automatic pistols on at least three occasions.

Henry had his initial appearance on September 26, 2019, before U.S. Magistrate Judge James B. Clark III in Newark federal court and was detained without bail.

Each of the three counts of being a felon in possession of a firearm carries a maximum potential penalty of up to 10 years in prison. The charge of engaging in the business of dealing firearms while not being a federally licensed importer, licensed manufacturer, or licensed dealer carries a maximum potential penalty of up to five years in prison.

U.S. Attorney Craig Carpenito credited special agents of the ATF, officers with the Passaic County Sheriff's Office, the Passaic County Prosecutor's Office, and the N.J. State Police with the investigation leading to Henry's arrest.

The government is represented by Assistant U.S. Attorney Christopher D. Amore of the Organized Crime and Gangs Unit in the U.S. Attorney's Office in Newark. Defense counsel is Peter Carter Esq., Assistant Federal Public Defender, Newark.
