Fortrell Latrae Sain, Cocaine Trafficking, Mississippi 2020
A Memphis man has been sentenced to over 17 years in federal prison for his role in a cocaine trafficking organization.
Fortrell Latrae Sain, 38, of Memphis, Tennessee, was sentenced to 210 months in federal prison, followed by five years of supervised release, for conspiracy to possess with intent to distribute 5 kilograms or more of cocaine.
According to court records, Sain acted as the middle man in the cocaine conspiracy that involved co-defendants, Ray Parham and Riondal Taylor.
The investigation, led by Homeland Security Investigations, revealed that Sain played an intricate role in aiding the drug trafficking organization by making connections for their supply of cocaine.
On February 21, 2020, a jury found Sain guilty of the charge. Parham and Taylor had previously pleaded guilty for their roles in the conspiracy on November 8, 2019.
Sain was also ordered to pay a $10,000 fine. Parham was sentenced to serve 72 months in federal prison followed by 5 years supervised release on March 4, 2020. Taylor's sentencing is set for August 4, 2020.
The case was investigated by Homeland Security Investigations and prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorneys Shundral H. Cole and Kathlyn Van Buskirk.
