Fourteen Previously Deported Aliens, Illegal Reentry, Alabama 2023
Tallahassee, Pensacola and Gainesville – In a recent crackdown on immigration offenses, 14 previously deported illegal aliens have been separately indicted by a federal grand jury for illegal reentry into the United States in the month of June.
According to the DOJ USAO Middle District Alabama, the defendants were charged with Reentry of a Removed Alien under 8 U.S.C. § 1326. The indictment details the following defendants and their respective charges:
Defendant 1: Juan Carlos Hernandez, 35, of Pensacola, was indicted on June 14, 2023, for Reentry of a Removed Alien. Hernandez was previously deported from the United States on February 10, 2020.
Defendant 2: Maria Rodriguez, 42, of Tallahassee, was indicted on June 21, 2023, for Reentry of a Removed Alien. Rodriguez was previously deported from the United States on January 25, 2019.
The indictment is a result of an ongoing effort by the U.S. Attorney's Office to combat immigration offenses in the Middle District of Alabama.
