Francis Mezan, Cocaine Trafficking, Maine 2024
A Westbrook man has been sentenced to federal prison for his role in distributing cocaine and cocaine base. Francis Mezan, 35, was sentenced to 27 months in prison followed by three years of supervised release.
Mezan pleaded guilty on April 8, 2025, in U.S. District Court in Portland, Maine. The charges stem from a period of time in which Mezan sold cocaine and cocaine base to a cooperating source working with law enforcement.
According to court records, the cooperating source made three separate purchases from Mezan, totaling multiple instances of cocaine and cocaine base. These purchases were recorded and monitored by investigators between July 18, 2024, and September 5, 2024.
The FBI investigated this case with assistance from the Maine Drug Enforcement Agency and the Portland Police Department. This case is part of an Organized Crime Drug Enforcement Task Forces (OCDETF) investigation.
