A Franklin County, North Carolina fentanyl dealer is behind bars after selling deadly poison to a victim who later overdosed. Ahmod Talley, 28, pleaded guilty to conspiracy and several possession charges related to heroin, fentanyl, and cocaine.
The investigation into Talley’s dealings began after a fatal overdose in Franklin County. Law enforcement linked Talley to the sale of fentanyl to the victim just three days before the death.
During a traffic stop, officers found a loaded handgun, bindles of fentanyl, and cocaine. A search of Talley’s house turned up a .380 caliber pistol, more cocaine, and marijuana. His grandmother’s house yielded a rifle and 350 bindles of heroin and fentanyl mix.
U.S. Attorney Ellis Boyle vowed that ‘dope dealers lose their freedom for decades’ and that ‘prison awaits those who sell deadly poison to our kids and families.’ Talley’s sentence sends a clear message: the consequences of selling deadly drugs will be harsh.
