Fred McGee, Heroin Charges, Wisconsin 2019

A Chicago man has been sentenced to 84 months in federal prison for possessing 100 grams or more of heroin with intent to distribute. Fred McGee, 46, of Chicago, Illinois, was found guilty of this charge on August 19, 2019, and was sentenced on November 8, 2019, by U.S. District Judge William M. Conley.

The investigation began on January 31, 2018, when law enforcement officers recovered approximately 104 grams of fentanyl-laced heroin during a traffic stop of a vehicle in Dunn County, Wisconsin.

The vehicle was occupied by McGee, Terry Glaspie, and another individual. During the course of their investigation, law enforcement determined that McGee transported the heroin from Chicago so he could sell it in Minneapolis, Minnesota.

The charge against McGee was the result of an investigation conducted by the Dunn County Sheriff’s Office, Menomonie Police Department, Wisconsin State Patrol, Dunn County District Attorney’s Office, and the Drug Enforcement Administration.

The prosecution of the case has been handled by Assistant U.S. Attorney Chadwick M. Elgersma.

On January 31, 2018, the Dunn County Sheriff’s Office along with other law enforcement agencies conducted a traffic stop in Dunn County, Wisconsin, that led to the arrest and charging of McGee with the crime.

McGee was sentenced to 84 months in federal prison for possessing 100 grams or more of heroin with intent to distribute in Madison, Wisconsin, on November 8, 2019.
