Freddy Alexander Morales Tejada, Illegally Reentering U.S., Connecticut 2025

Freddy Alexander Morales Tejada, 25, a citizen of El Salvador and last residing in Vernon, Connecticut, was sentenced to nearly four months of imprisonment for illegally reentering the United States after being deported.

According to court documents and statements made in court, Morales Tejada was convicted in Connecticut Superior Court of carrying a pistol without a permit and failure to appear in the first degree in October 2023.

He was subsequently deported to El Salvador in February 2024. Morales Tejada unlawfully reentered the U.S. and was found in South Windsor on May 19, 2025, when he was arrested for engaging in a police pursuit, reckless driving, operating motor vehicle without license, and illegal operation of motor vehicle under suspension.

Morales Tejada was arrested on a federal criminal complaint on October 23, 2025. On November 10, 2025, he pleaded guilty to illegally reentering the U.S.

Morales Tejada, who has been detained since his federal arrest, will remain detained pending his removal to El Salvador. This matter was investigated by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), Enforcement and Removal Operations.

The case was prosecuted by Assistant U.S. Attorney Neeraj N. Patel. This case is part of Operation Take Back America, a nationwide initiative that marshals the full resources of the federal government to repel the invasion of illegal immigration, achieve the total elimination of cartels and transnational criminal organizations (TCOs), and protect our communities from the perpetrators of violent crime.
