Omaha Man Sentenced to 180 Months in Prison for Crack Cocaine Trafficking
A 47-year-old Omaha man has been sentenced to 180 months in prison for his role in a crack cocaine trafficking operation. Freeman L. Johnson, Jr. was convicted of distributing crack cocaine, possessing with the intent to distribute methamphetamine and crack cocaine, and possessing a firearm in furtherance of drug trafficking.
According to court documents, Johnson was involved in the distribution of crack cocaine outside of his residence in the 46th block of Reddick Avenue. On four separate occasions, a cooperating source purchased crack cocaine from Johnson, with the largest purchase being 26.12 grams of crack cocaine on December 19, 2023.
On February 8, 2024, law enforcement executed a search warrant at Johnson's residence and seized a significant amount of evidence, including 446 grams of methamphetamine, approximately 1,784 pills containing 317.98 grams of methamphetamine, 38.18 grams of crack cocaine, 81.52 grams of cocaine, a digital scale, $9,005.00 in cash, a Canik TP9 9mm handgun, a Polymer 80 handgun, and multiple boxes of handgun ammunition.
Johnson has a history of felony convictions, including convictions for delivery of cocaine (2001), possession of cocaine (2003), and possession with intent to distribute crack cocaine (2003). As a result of these convictions, he is prohibited from possessing firearms.
Johnson was sentenced by Chief United States District Judge Robert F. Rossiter, Jr. on March 14, 2025, to 120 months' imprisonment on the drug charges and a consecutive 60 months' imprisonment on the firearms charge. He will also forfeit $9,005.00 in drug proceeds. After his release from prison, he will begin a five-year term of supervised release.
