GABRIEL HORACE WILLIAMS-BEY, Unlawful Possession of a Firearm by a Felon, Connecticut 2023

Hartford resident GABRIEL HORACE WILLIAMS-BEY, 35, has been sentenced to 48 months in prison for unlawfully possessing a firearm and violating the conditions of his supervised release.

According to court documents, Williams-Bey's history of crime includes a state firearms conviction, multiple state narcotics convictions, and a federal narcotics conviction for which he was sentenced to eight years of imprisonment and four years of supervised release in June 2016.

Williams-Bey was released from federal prison in August 2021 but failed to abide by the terms of his supervised release. On June 30, 2022, Hartford Police attempted to stop Williams-Bey's vehicle, but he fled at high speed and attempted to escape on foot.

After his apprehension, a search of his vehicle revealed a loaded semi-automatic handgun. As a convicted felon, it is a violation of federal law for Williams-Bey to possess a firearm or ammunition that has moved in interstate or foreign commerce.

Williams-Bey has been detained in federal custody since July 12, 2022, and pleaded guilty to unlawful possession of a firearm by a felon on October 5, 2023.

U.S. District Judge Sarala V. Nagala sentenced Williams-Bey to 37 months of imprisonment for the firearm offense and a consecutive 11 months for violating the conditions of his supervised release.

The Hartford Police Department and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) investigated the case, with Assistant U.S. Attorneys Kenneth L. Gresham and Jocelyn Courtney Kaoutzanis prosecuting the case through Project Safe Neighborhoods (PSN).
