Garry F. Bienvenue, Child Pornography, Massachusetts 2024

BOSTON – In a disturbing case of child exploitation, Garry F. Bienvenue, a 57-year-old resident of Attleboro, Massachusetts, has been charged with allegedly using the Snapchat messaging application to engage in sexually explicit video-chats with minor children. The victimized minors, reportedly aged 3-6 years old, were subjected to unimaginable abuse, with Bienvenue allegedly possessing videos depicting their exploitation.

According to court documents, law enforcement agencies discovered that Bienvenue had solicited and received child pornography from children over the internet, using Snapchat. A search of his Attleboro home resulted in the seizure of his smartphone, which contained child pornography videos, including one depicting the rape of a child as young as 3-5 years old.

The charges against Bienvenue include receipt of child pornography, which carries a mandatory minimum sentence of five years and up to 20 years in prison, and possession of child pornography, which provides for a sentence of up to 10 years in prison. Each charge also comes with a mandatory minimum of five years and up to a lifetime of supervised release, as well as a fine of up to $250,000.

Bienvenue was arrested and charged on this date, with a federal court in Boston ordering his detention pending a detention hearing set for March 16th at 2:00 p.m. The case was brought as part of Project Safe Childhood, a nationwide initiative designed to protect children from exploitation and abuse.
