Gary Lockett, Methamphetamine Conspiracy, Nebraska 2024

A 40-year-old Omaha man has been sentenced to 180 months in prison for his involvement in a methamphetamine conspiracy.

Gary Lockett, of Omaha, Nebraska, was sentenced March 15, 2024, in federal court in Omaha for his role in the methamphetamine conspiracy.

According to the investigation, the FBI began looking into Kashaun Lockett, Gary's brother, in October 2020 for distributing methamphetamine. Over the course of eight months, the FBI made 13 controlled buys of meth from Kashaun Lockett, totaling 419 grams of the substance.

During one of the controlled buys, Kashaun Lockett was in the hospital with a gunshot wound, so he used his brother Gary to deliver 55 grams of meth.

On June 14, 2021, a controlled buy was arranged with Kashaun Lockett. However, when the Omaha Police Department attempted a traffic stop, Kashaun Lockett fled the scene.

While Kashaun Lockett was fleeing, surveillance officers at his residence saw Gary Lockett and Robert Culberson exit the residence and toss meth and a firearm into the tree line at the back of the residence.

Gary Lockett's sentence was enhanced due to a previous federal drug conviction. Kashaun Lockett was sentenced on March 8, 2024, to 204 months, while Culberson was sentenced on August 15, 2023, to 120 months.

This case was investigated by the Federal Bureau of Investigation and the Omaha Police Department.
