Gilbert Morin, Felon in Possession of Firearm and Ammunition, Massachusetts 2026
A Worcester man has pleaded guilty to being a felon in possession of firearm and ammunition, federal authorities announced today.
Gilbert Morin, 39, pleaded guilty to one count of being a felon in possession of a firearm and ammunition in federal court in Boston.
U.S. District Court Judge Margaret R. Guzman scheduled sentencing for April 23, 2026.
Morin was indicted by a federal grand jury in September 2025, after police responded to a report of a man with a firearm outside of a downtown nightclub on May 30, 2025.
When police attempted to stop Morin, he led them on a foot chase through the Worcester Common, where he was eventually apprehended and found to have a loaded Taurus pistol.
Morin has been in custody since his arrest and faces a maximum sentence of up to 15 years in prison, three years of supervised release, and a fine of up to $250,000.

The case was investigated and prosecuted by the Boston Homeland Security Task Force as part of Operation Take Back America, a nationwide federal initiative.
