Philadelphia Man Sentenced to Over 10 Years for Distributing Methamphetamine
HARRISBURG – In a stark reminder of the dangers of methamphetamine, a Philadelphia man has been handed a substantial prison sentence for distributing the highly addictive substance.
Gregory A. Jackson, a 54-year-old resident of Philadelphia, was sentenced to 121 months’ imprisonment to be followed by five years on supervised release, by Chief U.S. District Court Judge Christopher C. Conner, for distributing methamphetamine.
The evidence presented at trial showed that in September 2017, Jackson traveled from Philadelphia to York and delivered over 100 grams of pure methamphetamine to another individual.
The case was investigated by the Federal Bureau of Investigation, the Springettsbury Township Police Department, the Pennsylvania State Police, and the York County Drug Task Force. Assistant United States Attorneys Carlo D. Marchioli and James T. Clancy prosecuted the case.
This case is part of Project Safe Neighborhoods (PSN), a program bringing together all levels of law enforcement and the communities they serve to reduce violent crime and make our neighborhoods safer for everyone.
The harsh sentence handed down to Jackson serves as a warning to those involved in the distribution of methamphetamine. The severe consequences of this crime should be a deterrent to anyone considering engaging in such activities.
