Fort Wayne Man Sentenced to 10 Years for Trafficking

FORT WAYNE — A 39-year-old Fort Wayne man was sentenced to 10 years in prison for his role in a local drug trafficking operation.

Gregory Huddleston, of Fort Wayne, Indiana, pleaded guilty to distributing a controlled substance, according to a press release from U.S. Attorney Kirsch.

Huddleston was sentenced to 120 months in prison followed by 5 years of supervised release. He will serve the remainder of his sentence in a federal prison.

The investigation into Huddleston's activities began in November 2017, when the Fort Wayne Police Department received anonymous tips about drug trafficking at a specific address in Fort Wayne.

On July 11, 2018, a confidential informant made a recorded phone call to Huddleston to arrange for the purchase of one ounce of methamphetamine and a quantity of heroin.

During the recorded call, Huddleston instructed the informant to go to a nearby store and wait for someone to bring the drugs. Shortly after, surveillance officers observed a known associate of Huddleston arrive at the store and meet with the informant.

The associate handed over the agreed-upon amounts of methamphetamine and heroin to the informant.

The case was investigated by the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives and the Fort Wayne Police Department Vice & Narcotics Unit.

Assistant U.S. Attorney Lesley J. Miller Lowery handled the case.
