A 50-month prison sentence was handed down to Kyle Davion Kohon, 21, for pointing a gun at his girlfriend in a dispute at a Casper home on August 20, 2025.
Police had responded to the report and found Kohon’s abandoned backpack containing a stolen 9mm pistol. Initially, Kohon denied ownership but later admitted the gun was his.
This wasn’t Kohon’s first run-in with the law. He had a prior domestic battery case in 2024.
Assistant U.S. Attorney Paige Hammer prosecuted the case, which was investigated by the Casper Police Department, DCI and ATF.
Kohon was indicted on November 19, 2025, and pleaded guilty on January 8, 2026.
