Hakeem Mauzon, Distributing Crack Cocaine, New York 2018

A 29-year-old man from Troy, New York, has been sentenced to 63 months in prison for distributing crack cocaine.

Hakeem Mauzon, of Troy, was sentenced on Tuesday by Chief United States District Judge Glenn T. Suddaby.

Mauzon admitted to selling crack cocaine on four occasions in 2018 in Troy, totaling approximately 200 grams.

The investigation was led by the DEA and prosecuted by Assistant U.S. Attorney Alicia Giglio Suarez.

Mauzon was also ordered to serve 4 years of supervised release following his term of incarceration and to forfeit $4,560 in proceeds from his drug trafficking activity.

The sentencing comes after Mauzon pleaded guilty in November 2018 to distributing over 28 grams of crack cocaine in Troy.

The investigation and prosecution of Mauzon's case highlight the ongoing efforts of law enforcement to combat the distribution and sale of illicit substances.
