Hermon Clemons, Jr., Conspiracy to Distribute, West Virginia 2019

Wheeling, West Virginia man admits to distributing cocaine base, methamphetamine, heroin, and fentanyl in the Ohio Valley region.

Hermon Clemons, Jr., a 50-year-old resident of Wheeling, West Virginia, has admitted to his role in a conspiracy to distribute and possess with the intent to distribute controlled substances. U.S. Attorney Bill Powell announced the plea.

Clemons pled guilty to one count of conspiracy to distribute and possess with the intent to distribute controlled substances, including cocaine base, methamphetamine, heroin, and fentanyl, in Ohio County and elsewhere from September 2018 to June 2019.

According to the investigation, Clemons worked with others to distribute the controlled substances in the Ohio Valley region.

Assistant U.S. Attorney Shawn M. Adkins is prosecuting the case on behalf of the government. The Ohio Valley Drug & Violent Crimes Task Force, a HIDTA-funded initiative, investigated the case.

Clemons faces up to 20 years incarceration and a fine of up to $1,000,000. Under the Federal Sentencing Guidelines, the actual sentence imposed will be based upon the seriousness of the offenses and the prior criminal history, if any, of the defendant.

U.S. Magistrate Judge James P. Mazzone presided over the case.
