Published October 27, 2020

Tampa, Florida - Ihor Radionov, a 51-year-old Alpharetta, Georgia resident, has been arrested and charged with firearms trafficking.

According to the indictment, between 2014 and 2020, Radionov, co-conspirator Vladimir Volgaev, and a co-conspirator residing in Ukraine, conspired to export defense articles out of the United States, including gun barrels and slides, without a license or prior written approval from the United States.

An indictment is merely a formal charge that a defendant has committed one or more violations of federal criminal law, and every defendant is presumed innocent unless, and until, proven guilty.

The case was investigated by Homeland Security Investigations, the Federal Bureau of Investigation, and the U.S. Postal Inspection Service.

Radionov made his first appearance in federal court in Atlanta, Georgia, on October 26, 2020.

If convicted on all counts, Radionov faces a maximum penalty of 20 years in federal prison.

This case will be prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorney Carlton C. Gammons and Trial Attorney David Lim of the National Security Division’s Counterintelligence and Export Control Section.
