Jack Elijah Turner, Armed Robbery, Pennsylvania 2019

A 21-year-old former Cochranton resident has been charged with armed robbery after allegedly holding up a Kwik Fill gas station in Erie at gunpoint on August 11, 2019.

According to the indictment presented to the court, Jack Elijah Turner used a firearm to rob the gas station at 3360 West 38th Street in Erie, Pennsylvania.

Project Safe Neighborhood, an evidence-based program aimed at reducing violent crime, is working with local law enforcement agencies to identify and prosecute the most violent offenders.

The indictment charges Turner with Hobbs Act robbery and using and carrying a firearm during a crime of violence. If convicted, Turner faces a maximum total sentence of life in prison, a fine of $500,000, or both.

Assistant United States Attorney Christian A. Trabold is prosecuting this case on behalf of the government. The Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives, the Pennsylvania State Police, and the Millcreek Police Department conducted the investigation leading to the indictment in this case.

An indictment is an accusation, and a defendant is presumed innocent until proven guilty.

Turner's prior criminal history, if any, will be taken into consideration during sentencing. The actual sentence imposed would be based upon the seriousness of the offenses and any prior convictions.
