Jack Reid, III, Cocaine Trafficking, New York 2023

A 49-year-old Williamsville man has been sentenced to 25 years in prison for his role in a large-scale cocaine trafficking operation.

According to court documents, Jack Reid, III, used family members and others as drug couriers and distributors of more than 50 kilograms of cocaine between 1990 and April 2012.

The cocaine was obtained from sources in Rochester and New York, as well as Atlanta, Georgia, and distributed in various areas throughout Erie and Niagara Counties.

Reid was convicted of conspiring to possess with intent to distribute five kilograms or more of cocaine and possessing with intent to distribute cocaine after a jury trial.

U.S. District Judge Richard J. Arcara also ordered Reid to forfeit $1,000,000 and two properties in Williamsville and Amherst, NY, as part of his sentence.

The sentencing is the culmination of an investigation by the Drug Enforcement Administration, the Lackawanna Police Department, and the Lockport Police Department.

Reid's sentence is the latest in a series of high-profile cocaine trafficking cases in the Western New York region.
