Paramount Man Sentenced to Federal Prison for Assaulting Border Patrol Agent
LOS ANGELES - In a shocking turn of events, Jacob Daniel Terrazas, a 31-year-old man from Paramount, California, has been sentenced to 10 months in federal prison for throwing chunks of cinderblock at Border Patrol agents and injuring one during a violent protest near a Homeland Security Investigations (HSI) facility in Paramount.
On June 7, 2025, a protest turned violent, with Terrazas and others throwing chunks of a broken cinderblock at the agents. One of those chunks struck a Border Patrol Agent in the right shin, causing bruising and bleeding.
Terrazas pleaded guilty on January 20, 2026, to one misdemeanor count of simple assault on a federal officer, in violation of 18 U.S.C. § 111(a)(1). This sentence delivers on the promise to hold those accountable who dare to interfere or attack federal agents, said First Assistant U.S. Attorney Bill Essayli.
According to his plea agreement, Terrazas was sentenced by United States District Judge Percy Anderson, who also imposed a $100 fine. The judge made it clear that if you attack federal agents, you will be facing time in federal prison.
