Jacob J. Hampton, Child Pornography Production, Missouri 2025
A horrific case of child exploitation has come to an end with a 25-year prison sentence for Jacob J. Hampton, 33, of O'Fallon, Missouri.
On Tuesday, January 2025, U.S. District Judge Henry E. Autrey handed down the sentence to Hampton, who pleaded guilty to one count of production of child pornography and one count of receiving child pornography.
The investigation began when authorities discovered images of Hampton abusing an 8-year-old girl on his phone. The images were obtained from a hidden camera placed in a bathroom.
The FBI, the St. Charles County Police Department, and the St. Charles County Cyber Crime Task Force worked together to bring Hampton to justice. Assistant U.S. Attorney Jillian Anderson prosecuted the case.
This case was part of Project Safe Childhood, a nationwide initiative launched in May 2006 to combat the growing epidemic of child sexual exploitation and abuse.
Hampton's sentence serves as a reminder that those who prey on children will face severe consequences. The community is safer with Hampton behind bars, and the victim can finally begin to heal.
