A 20-year-old Keshena man has been sentenced to 11 years in prison for the sexual abuse of a 4-year-old girl on the Menominee Indian Reservation.

Jacob J. Zhuckkahosee, an enrolled member of the Menominee Indian Tribe of Wisconsin, pleaded guilty on October 15, 2013, to a federal indictment charging him with the sexual abuse of a person under the age of 16 years.

According to court documents, the abuse occurred on a date between June 15, 2013, and July 17, 2013, at a residence on the Menominee Indian Reservation. Zhuckkahosee admitted to law enforcement that he was alone in the residence when the unattended victim arrived. He stated that he unclothed the child and penetrated her anal opening with his right index finger. The abuse stopped when the child started to cry.

Zhuckkahosee expressed remorse for his actions and expressed interest in getting treatment for his problem.

The case was investigated by the Menominee Tribal Police and the Federal Bureau of Investigation and was prosecuted by Assistant U.S. Attorney Benjamin L. Whittemore.

Jacob J. Zhuckkahosee was sentenced by Federal District Court Judge William C. Griesbach to 135 months of imprisonment, followed by a term of life on supervised release.

Zhuckkahosee's sentence is the result of his guilty plea. The investigation revealed that he abused a 4-year-old female child, who was under the age of 16.
