Jacqueline Marie Kirkaldie, Meth, Heroin Trafficking, Montana 2019
Great Falls woman admits to distributing methamphetamine and heroin. Jacqueline Marie Kirkaldie, 32, pleaded guilty to possession with intent to distribute controlled substances in a U.S. District Court in Great Falls, Montana, on an unknown date in 2019. She is currently detained.
Kirkaldie admitted to redistributing methamphetamine and heroin that originated from California, according to U.S. Attorney Kurt Alme. The prosecution stated that the meth and heroin were brought to Great Falls on a weekly basis in pound quantities.
The investigation into Kirkaldie's activities was led by the Russell Country Drug Task Force and the Drug Enforcement Administration. The task force began investigating a meth and heroin distribution ring in Great Falls in September 2018. A heroin addict interviewed by detectives in January revealed that he had obtained heroin from Kirkaldie and that she had a source of drugs that brought large quantities from California.
Assistant U.S. Attorney Jessica Betley is prosecuting the case, which is part of Project Safe Neighborhoods (PSN). The case is an example of the program's efforts to reduce violent crime by targeting the most violent offenders and partnering with locally based prevention and reentry programs.
Kirkaldie faces a minimum mandatory 10 years to life in prison, a $10 million fine, and five years of supervised release. Her sentencing is set for October 16, 2019.
The prosecution stated that Kirkaldie was among those who redistributed for the group and that she was a key player in the meth and heroin distribution ring. The case highlights the ongoing efforts to combat drug trafficking in Montana and the importance of partnerships between law enforcement agencies and the community.
The Russell Country Drug Task Force and the Drug Enforcement Administration worked together to investigate the case, which is an example of the collaborative efforts required to combat drug trafficking. The case is a reminder that drug trafficking has serious consequences and that those involved can face severe penalties.
