Jade A. Pittsley, Methamphetamine Possession and Escape from Custody, New York 2023

A Binghamton woman is facing serious prison time after pleading guilty to escaping federal custody and possessing with intent to distribute methamphetamine.

Jade A. Pittsley, 34, of Binghamton, New York, admitted to escaping from federal custody while serving a term of imprisonment for a drug offense involving methamphetamine.

Pittsley was under the supervision of a halfway house in November 2023 but never returned. Days later, law enforcement found her carrying methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia in her purse.

The case was investigated by Homeland Security Investigations and the U.S. Marshals Service with assistance from the Broome County Sheriff's Office.

Assistant U.S. Attorneys Mikayla Espinosa and Kristen Grabowski are prosecuting the case.

Pittsley faces a minimum term of 5 years and up to life in prison, a fine of up to $250,000, and a term of supervised release of at least 4 years when she is sentenced on December 30, 2024, before United States District Judge Mae A. D'Agostino.

This case is a stark reminder of the importance of accountability in our justice system.
