NEW ORLEANS, LA - In a shocking turn of events, JAMES A. MOORE, a 32-year-old man from Atlanta, Georgia, pleaded guilty to failure to register as a sex offender under the federal Sex Offender Registration and Notification Act (SORNA).
According to a statement from U.S. Attorney Peter Strasser, MOORE appeared before U.S. District Court Judge Carl Barbier on March 5, 2020, and entered a guilty plea to one count of failure to register as a sex offender.
MOORE, who faces a maximum term of 10 years in prison and a $250,000.00 fine, will also be subject to a term of supervised release between 5 years and life. Judge Barbier has set sentencing for June 25, 2020.
