Heroin Trafficking and Firearms Charges in Johnstown, PA

Three residents of Johnstown, Pennsylvania, have been indicted on federal narcotics and firearms charges following a lengthy investigation by the Federal Bureau of Investigation and the Cambria County Drug Task Force.

According to the indictment, James Andre Hendricks, 38, Logan Tyrell Harris, 32, and Dian Shanell Lassiter, 31, conspired to distribute and possess with intent to distribute 100 grams or more of heroin from August 8 to August 22, 2013.

The indictment also alleges that Hendricks distributed less than 100 grams of heroin on three separate occasions in August 2013. Additionally, on August 22, 2013, Hendricks was found in possession of a Sturm & Ruger, Model P95, 9mm pistol, while Harris was found in possession of a Sturm & Ruger, Model P345, .45 caliber pistol.

Both Hendricks and Harris have prior convictions for crimes punishable by more than one year in prison, making them ineligible to possess firearms under federal law.

This case is being prosecuted as part of Project Safe Neighborhoods, a collaborative effort by federal, state, and local law enforcement agencies to prevent, deter, and prosecute gun crime.

The indictment carries a maximum sentence of 150 years in prison, a fine of $13,250,000, or both for Hendricks; 90 years in prison, a fine of $10,250,000, or both for Harris; and 80 years in prison, a fine of $10,000,000, or both for Lassiter. The actual sentence will be determined by the court based on the seriousness of the offenses and the defendants' prior criminal histories.
