Child Pornography Charges in New York

James Brady, a 68-year-old resident of Philmont, New York, has admitted to distributing and possessing child pornography, according to a recent guilty plea. The disturbing charges were announced by United States Attorney Grant C. Jaquith and James N. Hendricks, Special Agent in Charge of the Albany Field Office of the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI).

As part of his guilty plea, Brady admitted to using a desktop computer equipped with peer-to-peer file-sharing software to download and distribute child pornography. The investigation revealed that Brady had downloaded and retained more than 200 videos and images depicting child pornography, a truly horrific act.

The investigation into Brady's activities was conducted in collaboration with the New York State Police and the FBI, with Assistant United States Attorney Sahar L. Amandolare leading the prosecution. The case is a stark reminder of the importance of protecting children from exploitation and abuse.

Brady's guilty plea has significant implications, as he faces a minimum of 5 years and a maximum of 20 years in prison, as well as a term of post-imprisonment supervised release of at least 5 years and up to life. He will also be required to register as a sex offender upon his release from prison.
