ERIE, Pa. - A tale of prescription pill misuse unfolded in a federal courtroom, as ex-pharmacist James Frederick Franks, 34, of Union City, Pennsylvania, was handed down a sentence for his role in violating federal drug laws.

On February 22, 2023, United States District Judge Susan Paradise Baxter imposed the sentence on Franks. The case against him was prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorney Christian A. Trabold on behalf of the government.
