James Glover, Mail Theft and Bank Fraud, Alabama 2024
A former postal carrier has been sentenced to 24 months in prison for his role in a mail theft and bank fraud scheme in Montgomery, Alabama.
James Glover, a 44-year-old resident of Montgomery, was sentenced on September 20, 2024, by a federal district judge for his involvement in the scheme.
Glover was found guilty of stealing checks and documents containing financial information from the mail while performing his duties as a mail carrier in September and October 2022.
According to court records, Glover and others would alter the stolen checks or use them to create fraudulent checks, which were then deposited into bank accounts.
Glover was also ordered to pay a fine of $2,000 and restitution in the amount of $66,135.09 following his prison sentence.
Following his prison sentence, Glover will be on supervised release for three years, with no parole in the federal system.
