GREAT FALLS, Mont. - A Billings man with a horrific history of preying on vulnerable and marginalized Native Americans has been sentenced to 24 years in prison for a string of sex crimes spanning over three decades on the Fort Belknap Indian Reservation.

James Kirby King, 58, was found guilty in September 2024 of multiple charges including aggravated sexual abuse of a child, incest, and sex trafficking. He was sentenced to 290 months in prison followed by 10 years of supervised release, U.S. Attorney Kurt Alme said.

The investigation revealed that King preyed on his victims without regard to their sex, age, or biological relationship. He molested, drugged, assaulted, and sexually exploited his victims, some of whom were as young as five years old.

The victims, identified as Jane Doe 1, Jane Doe 2, Jane Doe 3, Jane Doe 4, Jane Doe 10, and others, were subjected to years of abuse, including forced sex acts, drugging, and exploitation. The abuse occurred on the Fort Belknap Indian Reservation and in Billings, where King lived more recently.

The charged conduct began as early as approximately 1992 and continued until King's arrest in 2023. King's crimes were so heinous that he was convicted of multiple counts of aggravated sexual abuse, incest, and sex trafficking.

King's sentence serves as a reminder that those who prey on the vulnerable will be held accountable for their crimes. Assistant U.S. Attorneys Amanda Myers and Ryan Weldon prosecuted the case, which was investigated by the FBI, Fort Belknap Law Enforcement Services, and the Great Falls Police Department.
