Methamphetamine Kingpin Brings Down the House

In a major blow to Omaha's underworld, 53-year-old James Lee Pokorny was sentenced to 82 months imprisonment for his role in a methamphetamine conspiracy.

Pokorny, a longtime resident of Omaha, Nebraska, was found guilty of participating in a methamphetamine drug conspiracy between September 13, 2021, and October 8, 2021. During this period, he sold a total of 126 grams of actual methamphetamine to a confidential source.

The scheme unraveled when Pokorny sold 25.02 grams of actual meth to a confidential source on September 13, 2021. He followed this up with sales of 51.57 and 50.19 grams of actual meth on October 4, 2021, and October 8, 2021, respectively.

Pokorny's agreement with at least one other person to distribute 126 grams of actual meth in Omaha between September 13, 2021, and October 8, 2021, sealed his fate. Chief United States District Judge Robert F. Rossiter Jr. handed down the sentence on December 8, 2023.

According to court documents, Pokorny will serve 82 months in prison, with no parole. After his release, he will begin a 3-year term of supervised release. This harsh sentence sends a clear message to those involved in the methamphetamine trade: the law will not tolerate such activities.
