A Billings man has admitted to trafficking methamphetamine on the Crow and Northern Cheyenne Indian Reservations. James R. Smith pleaded guilty to charges on July 17, 2023, according to a press release from the Department of Justice, USAO Middle District Alabama.
The charges against Smith include conspiracy to distribute methamphetamine and distribution of methamphetamine on the Crow and Northern Cheyenne Indian Reservations.
According to the press release, Smith's guilty plea was entered in the U.S. District Court for the District of Montana. He faces a maximum of life imprisonment and a $10 million fine.
