JAMES TYRONE DAVIS, Conspiracy to Possess with Intent to Distribute Methamphetamine, Montana 2013

A 28-year-old Missoula man, JAMES TYRONE DAVIS, has been charged with conspiracy to possess with intent to distribute methamphetamine. The investigation was conducted by a cooperative effort between the Drug Enforcement Administration and Missoula High Intensity Drug Trafficking Area (HIDTA) Task Force.

The charge was brought against DAVIS on February 21, 2013, during a federal court session in Missoula before U.S. Magistrate Judge Jeremiah C. Lynch.

DAVIS is currently released on special conditions. If convicted of this charge, DAVIS faces possible penalties of a minimum mandatory 10 years in prison up to life in prison, a $10,000,000 fine, and 5 years supervised release.

Assistant U.S. Attorney Tara J. Elliott is the prosecutor for the United States. The defendant pled not guilty to the charge.

The charge, an indictment, information or complaint, is merely an accusation and all persons named as defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty.

A pre-trial conference and a trial date will be set and the United States will be required to prove the allegations set forth in the indictment beyond a reasonable doubt.
