Jamie Alexander Jones, Oxycodone Trafficking, West Virginia 2014

WHEELING, WEST VIRGINIA

Jamie Alexander Jones, 28, of Pine Grove, West Virginia, has been convicted of oxycodone trafficking, announced United States Attorney William J. Ihlenfeld, II, today.

Jones was discovered in Wetzel County, West Virginia in possession of oxycodone in late 2014 during the course of an investigation by the West Virginia State Police, the Drug Enforcement Administration, and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives.

Jones pled guilty to one count of “Aiding and Abetting Possession with Intent to Distribute Oxycodone.”

The conviction carries a maximum sentence of 20 years in prison and a fine of up to $1,000,000.

Assistant U.S. Attorney Jarod Douglas prosecuted the case on behalf of the government.

Sentencing will be determined based on the seriousness of the offense and any prior criminal history of the defendant.

The case was presided over by Senior U.S. District Judge Frederick P. Stamp.

Jones is awaiting sentencing for his role in the oxycodone trafficking operation.
