Jamie Blunder, Drug Conspiracy, North Carolina 2016
CHARLOTTE, N.C. – In a shocking turn of events, a TSA officer has been arrested for leading a massive cocaine trafficking network in North Carolina.
On November 9, 2016, eight individuals were taken into custody on federal drug conspiracy charges after a lengthy investigation by the FBI and the TSA. The defendants, including TSA officer Jamie Blunder, 48, of Charlotte, are accused of operating a large-scale trafficking network that brought cocaine and other controlled substances into the Charlotte and Greensboro areas.
The indictment alleges that Blunder, who is a TSA officer, used his position to avoid law enforcement detection while traveling to and from the Jamestown, High Point, and Greensboro areas. The investigation also uncovered a network of co-conspirators who were responsible for transporting and distributing the narcotics.
The charges against the defendants include conspiracy, attempt to distribute and to possess with intent to distribute Schedule I and Schedule II controlled substances, and distribution of controlled substances and possession with intent to distribute Schedule I and Schedule II controlled substances.
As a result of the investigation, law enforcement executed multiple search warrants and recovered eight firearms, at least two kilograms of cocaine, and more than $150,000 in cash. The defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt in a court of law.
The case is being prosecuted by Assistant U.S. Attorneys Corey Ellis and Lambert Guinn of the U.S. Attorney's Office in Charlotte. U.S. Attorney Jill Westmoreland Rose thanked the FBI for leading the investigation and the TSA for their invaluable assistance with the case.
The defendants are:
Jamie Blunder, 48, of Charlotte
David Pate, 44, of High Point, N.C.
Alafia Fowlkes, 42, of Jamestown, N.C.
Samuel Little, 58, of Greensboro
Irvin Lampley, 56, of Greensboro
Aaron Dixon, 40, of Greenville, N.C.
Cameron Roberts, 29, of Greensboro
Dennis Harrington, 47, of Greensboro
A ninth defendant, Willie Nevius, 48, of Greensboro, has not been arrested yet.
The case is a stark reminder of the devastating impact that drug trafficking has on our communities. We will continue to work tirelessly to disrupt and dismantle these networks and bring those responsible to justice.
