Jamil Hassan, Conspiracy to Commit War, Illinois 2026

The rain tasted like exhaust and regret as it slicked the Chicago streets. It felt fitting, considering the ghost the FBI is chasing through our city, a specter of Syrian brutality named Jamil Hassan. He’s not some two-bit hustler or neighborhood thug. Hassan is accused of architecting torture, of overseeing a system of cruelty at the Mezzeh Military Airport prison near Damascus. A high-ranking officer in Syrian Air Force Intelligence, he’s wanted for conspiracy to commit war crimes, crimes allegedly inflicted on anyone who dared oppose the Assad regime – including American citizens.

Hassan isn’t hiding in the shadows with a gun, but in plain sight, blending into the anonymity of a major city. Details are scarce, the FBI keeping a tight lid on the investigation. He’s a man of the past, born in Syria in 1952, but a present danger nonetheless. Reports indicate brown eyes, but beyond that, descriptions are frustratingly vague. No known scars, no distinguishing marks, just a face lost in a sea of faces. The man was a master of control in a war-torn country; it’s a chilling thought considering his ability to disappear.

The charges aren’t about a single act of violence, but a systematic campaign of inhumanity. Mezzeh Prison wasn’t a place of detention, it was a machine designed to break people. Hassan is accused of being a key component of that machine, a man who knew exactly what was happening within those walls and actively conspired to make it continue. The FBI believes he’s somewhere in Illinois, a predator amongst us, and the implications are terrifying. This isn’t about street crime; it’s about accountability for atrocities committed halfway around the world.

A substantial reward is being offered for information leading directly to his arrest. The amount remains undisclosed, but rest assured, the FBI wants this man behind bars, and they’re willing to pay for credible leads. This isn’t a case for amateur sleuths, but for anyone who has information – anything, no matter how small – about Jamil Hassan’s whereabouts. Don't assume someone else will report it.
