Jamon Charles Phetsacksith, Assault Resulting in Serious Bodily Injury in Indian Country, Oklahoma 2025

A brutal argument turned deadly in Jenks, Oklahoma, when 27-year-old Jamon Charles Phetsacksith, a member of the Osage Nation, broke his girlfriend's leg in three places.

A federal jury convicted Phetsacksith of Assault Resulting in Serious Bodily Injury in Indian Country, a serious charge that carries significant consequences. The crime occurred on November 2024, when Phetsacksith and his girlfriend were drinking and hanging out. The situation escalated, and Phetsacksith chased after his girlfriend, pushing her to the ground.

Video surveillance shows Phetsacksith attempting to prevent his girlfriend from leaving the vehicle. In a desperate attempt to cover up his crime, Phetsacksith called 911, claiming that his girlfriend had fallen down a flight of stairs and needed medical attention. However, when separated from Phetsacksith, his girlfriend told EMSA personnel that he had assaulted her.

Tulsa Police officers responded to the scene and spoke with EMSA, the victim, and Phetsacksith. Body camera footage played for the jury showed Phetsacksith explaining that the couple was drunk and had a fight, but he later admitted to throwing his girlfriend around.

A trauma surgeon testified that the victim suffered severe injuries, including a broken left ankle, tibia, and fibula bones, which required surgical rods and screws to be implanted. The jury delivered a guilty verdict, finding Phetsacksith responsible for the assault.

Phetsacksith will remain in custody until sentencing is scheduled at a later date. The FBI and Tulsa Police Department investigated the case, with Assistant U.S. Attorneys Mallory Richard and Stacey Todd prosecuting the case.
