Jarrid A. Hammer, Assault, Missouri 2023
Jarrid A. Hammer, also known as 'Hammer,' 45, of Blue Springs, Mo., pleaded guilty to one count of assault resulting in serious bodily injury in aid of racketeering.
The assault occurred on July 20, 2023, at a bar & grill in North Kansas City, Mo., where Hammer and two other members of the Pagan's Motorcycle Club attacked a lone rival motorcycle gang member.
According to the plea agreement, Hammer and the other two Pagan's told the victim they were there to shut down the victim's club, then flipped a table over, knocking the victim to the ground. On the ground, the attackers stomped, kicked, and punched the victim, who later told law enforcement that those who assaulted them were wearing steel-toed boots.
The victim was hospitalized with a head contusion, rib fracture, hemothorax, left pulmonary contusion, pneumothorax, and a traumatic brain injury.
Hammer faces up to 20 years in prison without parole, as prescribed by federal statutes. The sentencing hearing will be scheduled after the completion of a presentence investigation by the United States Probation Office.
The case was investigated by the FBI, Independence, Mo., Police Department, Blue Springs, Mo., Police Department, Homeland Security Investigations, and the Kansas City, Mo., Police Department, as part of an Organized Crime Drug Enforcement Task Forces (OCDETF) operation.
Assistant U.S. Attorneys Bradley K. Kavanaugh and Robert Smith are prosecuting the case.
