A Galesburg man has been sentenced to a lengthy prison term for his role in a methamphetamine conspiracy in the Quad Cities.
Jason David Chaney, 31, of Galesburg, Illinois, was sentenced to 240 months in prison on April 9, 2018, for possession with intent to distribute methamphetamine, announced United States Attorney Marc Krickbaum.
According to court documents, Chaney was involved in a methamphetamine conspiracy from May 1, 2017, through August 3, 2017, during which time he was responsible for distributing over 6,800 grams of ice methamphetamine.
The methamphetamine conspiracy was investigated by the United States Drug Enforcement Administration Task Force, Davenport Police Department Tactical Operations Bureau, and Iowa Department of Public Safety, DCI Criminalistics Laboratory.
Chaney was also ordered to serve five years of supervised release following his term of imprisonment and pay $100 to the Crime Victims' Fund.
Chaney pleaded guilty to the charge on December 22, 2017, as part of a joint investigation between the United States Drug Enforcement Administration Task Force and the Davenport Police Department Tactical Operations Bureau.
The case was prosecuted by the United States Attorney's Office for the Southern District of Iowa.
