Omaha Man Sentenced to 300 Months for Methamphetamine Conspiracy

Omaha, NE - In a shocking turn of events, Jason E. Pemberton, 51, of Omaha, Nebraska, was sentenced to 300 months' imprisonment for his role in a conspiracy to distribute methamphetamine.

The sentencing took place on November 19, 2025, in federal court in Omaha, where United States District Judge Brian C. Buescher handed down the sentence.

Pemberton's trouble with the law began in December 2023, when the Department of Homeland Security Investigations Special Agents identified him as a narcotics distributor with a residence near 88th Plaza and Boyd Street, Omaha. The agents began a surveillance operation, which led to the discovery of Pemberton's illicit activities.

On January 11, 2024, agents saw Pemberton leave his residence driving a Hyundai Veloster. They followed him to a McDonald's parking lot where he parked and his co-defendant got out of a parked Chevy Silverado, approached Pemberton, and handed him a black backpack containing methamphetamine.

The backpack contained multiple bags of methamphetamine with a gross weight of 11 pounds. Later that day, agents and officers served a search warrant at Pemberton's residence, where they seized 36 plastic bags of methamphetamine with a gross weight of 32.06 pounds. During the residential search, agents also found a digital scale, packaging materials, two cell phones, and a money counter.

Pemberton's co-defendant is similarly charged for his role in the conspiracy to distribute methamphetamine, as well as a separate conspiracy to harbor illegal aliens for commercial advantage and private financial gain. His cases are ongoing.

This case was investigated by the Homeland Security Investigations Task Force.

Pemberton will begin a 10-year term of supervised release after his release from prison, as there is no parole in the federal system.
