Published June 4, 2019

A 25-year-old man from Wilkinsburg, Pennsylvania, pleaded guilty to possession of child pornography.

Jason Gerade Harris Jr. pleaded guilty to one count of possession of material depicting the sexual exploitation of minors, announced United States Attorney Scott W. Brady.

Harris Jr. was found to have 171 images and three videos of apparent child pornography on his phone, as well as evidence of communicating with minors for explicit images and videos.

The investigation was led by the FBI, who received a tip from Minnesota regarding a 7-year-old boy who was sent naked images via Skype.

The investigation also uncovered evidence of a 13-year-old boy from Tampa, Florida, who was coerced into taking explicit images of his 6-year-old brother for the defendant.

Harris Jr. was immediately cooperative with the investigation after being confronted with the evidence, providing details of his communications with the minors.

He is scheduled to be sentenced on October 22, 2019. The law provides for a maximum sentence of 10 years in prison, a fine of $1,000,000, or both.

Pending sentencing, Harris' bond was continued.

Assistant United States Attorney Shanicka L. Kennedy is prosecuting this case on behalf of the government.
