Jason Koscielski, Child Pornography, New York 2009

A Rochester man has been sentenced to 135 months in prison for his role in the distribution and possession of child pornography.

Jason Koscielski, 24, of Rochester, New York, was convicted of receipt, distribution, and possession of child pornography.

The case began in January 2009 when members of the Toronto Police Service discovered Koscielski sharing images of child pornography through a peer-to-peer file sharing program.

Special Agents with Homeland Security Investigations obtained a search warrant for Koscielski's residence, where they found over 200 videos and 1,000 images of child pornography on digital media owned by the defendant.

Koscielski was sentenced by U.S. District Judge Charles J. Siragusa to 135 months in prison and 30 years supervised release.

This case was brought as part of Project Safe Childhood, a nationwide initiative to combat the growing epidemic of child sexual exploitation and abuse.

The sentencing marks the culmination of an investigation by Special Agents of Immigration and Customs Enforcement, Homeland Security Investigations, under the direction of Special Agent in Charge James C. Spero.
