Jason Koscielski, Child Pornography, New York 2023

A Rochester man has been sentenced to prison for his role in a child pornography case.

Jason Koscielski, 24, was convicted of receipt, distribution and possession of child pornography.

On January 1, 2009, members of the Toronto Police Service, in Toronto, Canada discovered that Koscielski was online and sharing images of child pornography through a peer-to-peer file sharing program.

The case was referred to Special Agents with Homeland Security Investigations who obtained a search warrant for the defendant’s residence.

During the search, agents located more than 200 videos and 1,000 images of child pornography on digital media owned by the defendant.

Koscielski was sentenced to 135 months in prison and 30 years supervised release by U.S. District Judge Charles J. Siragusa.

This case was brought as part of Project Safe Childhood, a nationwide initiative to combat the growing epidemic of child sexual exploitation and abuse launched in May 2006.

The sentencing is the culmination of an investigation on the part of Special Agents of Immigration and Customs Enforcement, Homeland Security Investigations, under the direction of Special Agent in Charge James C. Spero.
