Published August 22, 2019

New Orleans resident, Jason Pick, has been accused of using his position as an accountant to steal from his employer, Company A.

Pick, 38, was employed by Company A between August 2016 and June 2018. Part of his duties was handling the credit card accounts of the company.

However, without authorization, Pick used Company A's credit cards for his own personal expenses. The total amount stolen was a staggering $140,791.21.

The U.S. Attorney's office announced that Pick has pleaded guilty to a one-count bill of information for wire fraud. He is scheduled to be sentenced before the Honorable Eldon E. Fallon on December 5, 2019.

Pick faces a maximum of 20 years of imprisonment, three years of supervised release, a $250,000 fine, and a $100.00 special assessment fee if convicted.

The U.S. Attorney praised the work of the United States Secret Service in investigating this matter. The prosecution of this case is being handled by Assistant U. S. Attorney G. Dall Kammer, Supervisor, General Crimes.

Jason Pick's actions have led to a significant loss for Company A. The company's trust was breached by Pick's unauthorized use of their credit cards.

As a result of Pick's plea, he will soon face the consequences of his actions. The sentencing hearing will determine the extent of his punishment.
