Published September 13, 2022

Grimy Times has learned that twin brothers, Jayveon and Tayveon Majors, were sentenced to federal prison for their roles in stealing firearms from a gun store in Speedway, Indiana.

According to court documents, on January 21, 2021, the brothers orchestrated a brazen heist at a Speedway gun store. Jayveon, 19, of Indianapolis, drove his brother to the store, while Tayveon, 19, stole a car from a nearby dealership. The brothers then drove separately to the gun store, where Tayveon used the stolen car to smash a hole into the side of the building to gain entry.

Video surveillance cameras captured images of Tayveon carrying firearms out of the store and loading them into the getaway car. Jayveon served as a lookout from inside the getaway car, while Tayveon loaded the stolen guns into the vehicle. The brothers then drove to their Indianapolis residence, where they were later arrested.

Police recovered four of the stolen guns from the Speedway gun store robbery, and Tayveon admitted to planning to sell the stolen guns and stolen vehicle.

Jayveon Majors pleaded guilty to theft of firearms from a federal firearms licensee and was sentenced to 38 months in federal prison. His twin brother, Tayveon Majors, also pleaded guilty to stealing firearms and was sentenced to 40 months in federal prison on September 21, 2021.

As part of their sentence, both brothers will be supervised by the U.S. Probation Office for two years following their release from federal prison.
